COLORS OF SAND
A compelling true story of a woman caught in the chaos of war in the heart of the Muslim world. Slovak nurse Ľubica El Malaheg fell in love with a Libyan surgeon, converted to Islam, and spent 20 years working in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Misrata. But in 2011, the outbreak of civil war turned her life upside down. Surrounded and under siege for months, Misrata resisted Gaddafi's brutal offensive at enormous human cost. Colors of Sand offers a rare and deeply personal insight into the soul of a woman who made Libya and the Arab world her home — and who endured its darkest moments with courage, love, and resilience.
