THE ADVENTURE OF CREATION

This documentary closely follows the exceptional international collaboration between foundryman and sculptor Laco Sabo, an artist of Hungarian descent, and avant-garde Czech sculptor Krištof Kintera, as they create Praying Tree — a monumental, eight-meter-high aluminum sculpture.

Laco Sabo founded a bronze foundry in Galanta in 1991, continuing the long-standing tradition of foundries in Hungary, which attracted sculptors from across Europe for many years. Having mastered the modern „lost wax" technique there, Sabo is now facing a new challenge: casting aluminum for the first time. He must acquire an electric furnace, find experts, and master this new technology. Will he succeed?

Viewers often overlook the enormous effort and precision required to transform a model into a finished sculpture. Laco Sabo's work on Praying Tree stands as an exceptional testament to top-tier professionalism and masterful artistic craftsmanship.

The film chronicles the birth of the sculpture and tells the story of Laco Sabo, an „ambassador" of decency, professionalism, and artistic humility in the Slovak-Hungarian border region.

The Adventure of Creation inspires creativity from an early age and emotionally conveys the power of cross-border collaboration. Decency, expertise, and professionalism are values that unite creative minds worldwide, regardless of their origins.
